Morgan Flaherty has been an Advanced Practice Provider for going on 5 years. Morgan is certified in Family Practice and has been working for Occupational Medicine for UnityPoint Health since September of 2016 and has just started working as needed with Next Edge. Morgan started her nursing journey working in a long-term care facility back in her hometown of Pocahontas, IA. She then started working full time on the acute care floor at Trinity Regional Hospital in 2012. Morgan also floated to the pain center from time to time to help in that area. “I love all the different opportunities being a nurse offers.” In February of 2016 Morgan became ANCC certified and waited to find her right fit as an Advanced Practice Provider. “When they reached out to me about Occupational medicine, I really had not a clue about what that area all entailed. I’m always willing to learn new things, so I jumped in and took the offer to work for UnityPoint Occupation medicine. I am very glad I did because I love this area of work and I have learned a lot being in this area.” Morgan also helps out when needed in the walk-in clinic. Morgan now helps out at Next Edge and provides services for IV therapy, Cosmetic Botox, and Vitamin therapy. “IV therapy/vitamin therapy is interesting and has many health benefits people are unaware of. It can treat fatigue, anxiety, depression, along with helping athletes recover. IV therapy can also provide general wellness and skin health.” She recently completed the basic class for Botox/fillers and is planning on completing the advanced class when able.
